With the weather in Sorrento being so nice, this past week I went on a few outdoor adventures that are not to be missed.<\/span><\/p>

From Monte Faito to the Ieranto Bay, to boats around Capri and Positano, I had an amazing week outdoors on the Sorrento coast<\/strong>!<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

On Thursday morning I got up very early and took the train from Sorrento to Castellammare di Stabia. Right at the train station;<\/span><\/p>

then I bought a ticket to take the Funivia del Monte Faito cable car to the top of the mountain. <\/span><\/p>

I stood in awe inside the cable car as it went higher up the mountain, watching as the towns below me became smaller. <\/span><\/p>

Though on sea level it was the beginning of a warm and clear day, at the top of the mountain the high altitude left a slight chill in the air as the peak of the mountain reached the clouds. <\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

After getting out of the cable car, you arrive in a small town area with restaurants where you can decide which hiking path you would like to go on.<\/p>

At about 1400 meters above sea level, the view from the top is incredible<\/strong>.<\/p>

Walking along the paths you can hear the birds chirping and see small lizards scurrying around.<\/p>

It felt so serene and peaceful<\/strong> as I took in the panoramic view.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

One of the paths I took brought me to an outlook where I could see the Sorrento Peninsula and Capri with the Faraglioni rocks to my left, and Mount Vesuvius and Naples to my right. <\/span><\/p>

So I just sat on the rocks of the outlook for a while, in awe of how beautiful this place is and feeling incredibly grateful to able to experience it<\/strong>. <\/span><\/p>

Along the hiking paths, there are so many places to stop to enjoy the amazing views. <\/span><\/p>

Going to Monte Faito is a must for nature lovers and hikers<\/strong>, especially if you want some of the best views on the coast.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

At the end of the day I took the cable car back down to Castellammare di Stabia, and not wanting the day to end, I got a sandwich and sat on the beach taking in the view of Vesuvius as I watched the sunset over the ocean.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

On Friday morning I went with a few of my friends to Capri for the day.<\/p>

After taking the<\/strong> 20-minute ferry from the Sorrento port, we arrived in Capri ready to explore the island<\/strong>.<\/p>

Once there, we took the funicular up to the town<\/b> to easily get into the main part of Capri.<\/p>

Walking around the town, there are so many small winding streets with lots of boutiques, designer stores, and handmade sandal shops<\/strong>.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

After walking around for a little bit we went to Anacapri where we took a chair lift to Monte Solaro<\/strong>, the highest point of Capri. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Monte Solaro, <\/strong>infact, provides an amazing view of the Faraglioni rocks from the top<\/strong>, as well as the clear blue ocean and the Isle of Ischia in the distance. <\/span><\/p>

Later in the afternoon, we took a private boat tour around the island<\/b> to enjoy Capri from the sea.
<\/span><\/p>

While on our boat tour, we had the opportunity to go into the Blue Grotto<\/b>. <\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

After getting onto a small boat and paying at the entrance of the grotto, we waited in a line of boats to enter the small cave.<\/p>

Lying down on your back to enter the grotto, the person manning the boat pulls the boat into the cave with a rope fixed to the top of the rocks.<\/p>

And then, the wonder.<\/p>

In<\/strong>side<\/b> the Blue Grotto was the most vibrant water I have ever seen<\/strong>.<\/p>

The water was just such a deep, glowing blue and I definitely think everyone should look to experience it during a trip to Capri<\/strong>!<\/p>

After our boat tour, we headed back to Sorrento and got gelato to finish off such a wonderful day<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

On Saturday, I had a field trip for my drawing class to the Ieranto Bay<\/strong>.<\/p>

After taking a bus to Massa Lubrense we began the 40-minute hike down to the bay.<\/p>

The path descends down the side of the mountain revealing the magnificent view of Capri and the Faraglioni Rocks in between the landmarks of Punta Campanella and Punta Penna.<\/p>

Along the path there you pass many lemon, orange, and olive trees<\/strong> and the scent of blooming flowers fills the air.<\/p>

It was here in this Marine Protected Area that I saw some of the most crystal clear waters<\/strong> of the coast.\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Though this can be a slightly difficult hike to complete, the view from the bay makes it all worth the walk<\/b>. <\/span><\/p>

Though the chilly water brought many jellyfish into the area, we were still able to go kayaking and snorkeling in addition to relaxing on the small beach area.<\/span><\/p>

This is definitely a hidden gem of the coast<\/strong> that has some of the most beautiful views I have ever seen.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

In celebration of two of my friends\u2019 birthdays, I finished out the weekend by renting two boats with my friends that stopped in Positano for a few hours.<\/p>

Departing from Massa Lubrense, the boats went along the coastline<\/strong>, allowing us to view the Ieranto Bay we had gone to the day before from the sea.<\/p>

We spent the day relaxing<\/strong> on the boat and swimming in the beautiful waters around the coast<\/strong> and had such a fun day together!<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
