This tradition enriches Palm Sunday with a historical and legendary symbol: the famous Confetti Palms\u00a0<\/strong>(Sugar Coated Almonds). <\/p>

This distinctive tradition makes the celebratory moment unique<\/strong> and imparts a special flavor to the entire area.<\/p>

In the homes of the Sorrentine Peninsula, confetti palms are crafted entirely by hand<\/strong>, carrying the essence of passed-down gestures and never-forgotten customs.<\/p>

The shapes<\/strong> of confetti palms can vary widely, from diverse branches to little trees and baskets<\/strong>, but all are made with almond (and also chocolate filled) confetti.<\/p>

The history<\/strong> of Confetti Palms is a fusion of diverse cultures<\/strong>, invasions, and periods of war<\/strong>, but also of profound love<\/strong>.<\/p>

In the past, Sorrento was frequently threatened by Saracen invasions, signaled by bells and watchtowers.<\/p>

Legend tells that around five hundred years ago<\/strong>, on Palm Sunday, a fleet of ships approached the coast<\/strong>, and the population sought refuge in church to pray and invoke divine protection.<\/p>

A storm forced the Saracens to retreat, but one ship sank<\/strong>.<\/p>

Among the survivors was a Saracen woman<\/strong>, washed ashore by the waves.<\/p>

A young fisherman saw her<\/strong> struggling and saved her, braving the strong sea currents.<\/p>

It is said that an immediate deep love blossomed<\/strong> between the young fisherman and the Saracen woman.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
