widespread religious sentiment.<\/p><p>Among them is <strong>a renowned tale of a child rescued from the jaws of a shark<\/strong> through the saint&#8217;s intercession.<\/p><p><strong>As evidence of The ceiling of the central nave is characterized by painted coffered gaps, with paintings by 18th century artists such as <b>Giovan Battista Lama<\/b> in the center, which depict episodes linked to the life of the saint.<\/p><p>Among the works of art present there are also paintings by <b>Giacomo del Po<\/b>, which celebrate miraculous events linked to the protection of Sorrento from plagues and sieges, and a series of narrative frescoes illustrating the <b>miracles of Sant&#8217;Antonino<\/b>.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-b4c5cda elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"b4c5cda\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h3 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Crypt and Sacristy<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-6c20589 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"6c20589\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Under the apse is the <strong>crypt<\/strong>, called &#8220;<strong>succorpo<\/strong>&#8220;, one of the most evocative and visited spaces of the basilica. The lower room, accessible via marble stairs, is supported by columns and preserves the remains of the saint, as well as numerous votive offerings and testimonies of popular faith.<br \/>In the crypt there are also paintings by <strong>Carlo Amalfi depicting<\/strong> the patron saints of Sorrento, together with works of great historical and artistic value.<\/p><p>The <strong>sacristy<\/strong> of the basilica is considered a <strong>true museum of sacred art<\/strong>, where objects, paintings and sculptures that tell the story of the centuries-old devotion towards Sant&#8217;Antonino are kept.
