Sorrento feels quaint in all the best ways. <\/span><\/p>

Aged architecture is weathered with an <\/span>unexpected sense of familiarity<\/b>, as when encountering a stranger who feels like home.<\/span><\/p>

Some buildings are undeniably striking and some more subtly so. <\/span><\/p>

Walking around this city swarming with <\/span>the bumbling drum of motociclette<\/i><\/b>, honking horns<\/b>, and single-file footsteps is a dichotomy of calm chaos<\/b>, as if the welcoming comfort combined with the bustling liveliness sat on perfectly balanced scales.<\/p>

Except that in the case of these balanced scales, it is not a cancellation but a conversation, a mutual need. <\/span><\/p>

They could not exist without each other. <\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Maybe this experience is the reason it doesn\u2019t feel real to be here. <\/span><\/p>

It\u2019s almost as if it were a dream, the nuanced balance too ideal to be ordinary life.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

The humidity encases you like a warm cloud, one so clear that the only rain is the sweat dripping from your skin. <\/span><\/p>

And then the Mediterranean breeze sweeps around you like silk, cool and gentle, and you soak it in like the endless sunshine.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

I have yet to discover another place that feels so foreign and yet so much like home.<\/span><\/p>

Have I gotten lost? Yes. But have I found my way back? Always (eventually).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

The locals are kind and welcoming<\/strong>, as I suppose anyone from a place thriving from tourism probably is. <\/span><\/p>

I almost wish it wasn\u2019t a tourist destination so that I could reach the heart of this city.<\/span><\/p>

The heart of any place resides in the stories from previous generations<\/strong>, in the depths of memory and tradition. <\/span><\/p>

There are hints of these memories<\/strong> in the delicacy that is <\/span>i pomodori di Sorrento<\/span><\/i>, in two seemingly old <\/span>amici<\/span><\/i> stopping in the alleyway for an impromptu chat;<\/span><\/p>

in businesses opening with the ease of late morning, in <\/span>il vulcano<\/span><\/i> I see across the gulf from my apartment\u2019s balcony.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
