About me: POV in Sorrento<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

It is my first time outside of America and I am so grateful and excited to be here in Sorrento<\/a>, Italy<\/strong>, where the culture<\/strong>, fashion<\/strong>, and food<\/strong> are all so rich and wonderful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am from a beachside town in New York<\/strong>, surrounded by sand and sea. We have a lot of rain, no matter the season, and long, warm summers. Because I was raised so close to the ocean, it has been such a relief to be near the water here as well!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Even before I arrived, I was so excited about this special opportunity that this Erasmus internship<\/strong> would provide me\u2014to experience Sorrento not just as a tourist, but as a writer and student<\/strong>, eager to explore and learn about local stories, people, and traditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Elegance of Sorrento<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

From the moment I arrived in Sorrento, I\u2019ve been struck by the beautiful architecture<\/strong>, historic charm, and panoramic views<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After landing and settling into my apartment, I went to Piazza della Vittoria<\/a><\/strong> and admired the sculpted 1926 monument<\/strong> at the center, and of course, the sparkling blue sea<\/strong> just beyond.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Even though I\u2019ve lived near the ocean my entire life, I\u2019ve never seen the sea from such dramatic cliffs before. The view was absolutely unforgettable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the distance, Mount Vesuvius<\/a><\/strong> reminded me of the astonishing power and unpredictability of nature\u2014a humbling and awe-inspiring sight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My POV: Plans for the Future in Sorrento<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Over an espresso and a cr\u00eape<\/strong>, I watched the busy cobblestone streets of Sorrento and listened to the sound of the wind and waves on the shore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although I\u2019ll only be here for five weeks<\/strong>, I can\u2019t wait to immerse myself in the rich history, local art, and incredible food<\/strong> that make Sorrento such a unique and welcoming place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
