Annunziata<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-c8ae2d6 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"c8ae2d6\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>As a first step, we recommend you to start precisely from the <strong>Church of SS Annunziata<\/strong>, <strong>the oldest 15th-century testimony of Rione Angri and, more in general, of Sant&#8217;Agnello as a whole<\/strong>. The church is located in Via Angri.<\/p>\n<p>In 1919, the Vatican Chapter crowned the altarpiece of the Annunziata Sanctuary and last year there were celebrations for the centenary of that event.<\/p>\n<p>Inside the Church, it is possible to admire the sacred image of the <strong>Archangel Gabriel, the Holy Spirit and the Virgin at the moment of the Annunciation<\/strong>. During the Fascist period, when the municipal seat of the ceased municipalities of the Sorrento Peninsula was established in Sant&#8217;Agnello, a part of the school building became a Town Hall and the other half continued to be used as a school.<\/p>\n<p>At the centre of the square, it is possible to admire the <strong>War Memorial<\/strong>, by the sculptor <strong>Giovanni Nicolini.<\/strong> <strong>The monument was inaugurated in 1924:<\/strong> it shows a lying infantryman with his sword in his hand and his shield.<br \/>\nBehind the municipal building<strong>, you can admire the headquarters of the Mutual Aid Workers&#8217; Society.<\/strong> Like <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/aboutsorrento.com\/en\/sorrento-en\/sedil-dominova\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sedil Dominova<\/a> <\/strong>in <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/aboutsorrento.com\/en\/sorrento-en\/sedil-dominova\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sorrento<\/a><\/strong>, it is an association that, since its early years, assisted workers who, for various reasons, remained unemployed and continues to carry out various activities for its citizens.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-50856a6 elementor-widget elementor-widget-image\" data-id=\"50856a6\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"image.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/aboutsorrento.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/elementor\/thumbs\/Municipio-Rione-Angri-SantAgnello-popusnvbfhelogeuryhsayfr5m2i5tgzlt5xilrk1s.jpg\" title=\"Rione Angri &#8211; Sant&#8217;Agnello\" alt=\"Municipio Rione Angri - Sant&#039;Agnello\" loading=\"lazy\" \/>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-34995b0 elementor-section-full_width elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"34995b0\" data-element_type=\"section\" data-e-type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-a9fa8b0\" data-id=\"a9fa8b0\" data-element_type=\"column\" data-e-type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-9ad83ff elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"9ad83ff\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Saint Joseph Sanctuary<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-bc178f8 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"bc178f8\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>In front of the Town Hall, you can go up a n<strong>arrow staircase that connects the city centre with the square in front of the churchyard of the Church of San Giuseppe.<\/strong> The latter was opened for worship in 1907.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<strong>Romanesque sanctuary of San Giuseppe<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>is characterized by a white marble facade and is surmounted by a statue of Christ,<\/strong> by the sculptor <strong>Galli from Lucca<\/strong>. \u00a0A bas-relief placed on the entrance door depicting St. Joseph among the Angels adorns the fa\u00e7ade together with two statues of St. Peter and Paul by the same author. Inside the church, it is possible to admire several frescoes by the <strong>Veronese painter Agostino Pegrassi,<\/strong> such as the central painting of the vault, which represents &#8220;<em>The Glory of San Giuseppe&#8221;,<\/em> &#8220;<em>The wedding of San Giuseppe and Maria<\/em>&#8221; and &#8220;<em>Il Tansito di San Giuseppe<\/em>
