Sorrento - Fotografia - mostra

From October 4 to November 9, 2025, the beautiful Villa Fiorentino in Sorrento will host the photo exhibition “Auschwitz – Birkenau: To Never Forget” by photographer Raffaele Federico.

The Exhibition “Auschwitz – Birkenau: To Never Forget” in Sorrento

This powerful exhibition brings visitors through an emotional journey into the memory of the Holocaust. The black-and-white photographs portray the concentration and extermination camps of Auschwitz and Birkenau: deserted barracks, barbed wire fences, silent train tracks, and piles of objects once belonging to the victims.

The exhibition opens on Saturday, October 4, at 6:00 PM, with a presentation by professor Giovanni Fiorentino and historical insights curated by professor Domenico Torre.
It will remain open to the public every day, free of charge, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM and 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM.

The Author: Who is Raffaele Federico?

Born in Sant’Agnello in 1962, Raffaele Federico is a surgeon who has cultivated a lifelong passion for photography. Since the early 1980s, he has been active in both collective and solo exhibitions, developing a distinctive style rooted in black-and-white reportage.

Over the years, he has documented local traditions in the Sorrento Peninsula and participated in international projects. With “Auschwitz – Birkenau: To Never Forget”, Federico has created one of his most significant works — a visual testimony that invites reflection on the value of collective memory in today’s world.

If you are visiting Sorrento this autumn, don’t miss this unique cultural experience. The exhibition is free to enter and hosted in one of the city’s most iconic venues, Villa Fiorentino.
A moving journey through photography, history, and memory — one that stays with you long after you leave.
