One of the novelties of Christmas 2025 arrives in Sorrento: “Araprite ‘e purtune, ce sta O’ presepio“, a journey through the doors of the historic centre, dedicated to the Neapolitan nativity scene, from 28 to 30 December. For the first time, the living nativity scene leaves its traditional location to merge with the urban fabric of the historic center.
The event was born from the desire to bring the public and tradition closer together, literally throwing open the doors of the city to show how the magic of the nativity scene can once again become a living part of the present. The sets, the characters and the typical atmosphere of the eighteenth-century nativity scene thus become an instrument of storytelling and artistic testimony, giving visitors the authentic sense of the Nativity.
Discover the route between the doors of the historic center of Sorrento
The route will be announced soon, it will start from Piazza Tasso and will accompany visitors through alleys and historic doors, where a one-of-a-kind nativity scene will come to life. Each stage will offer a representation capable of combining devotion, theatricality and tradition, allowing everyone to experience the nativity scene as protagonists, immersed in scenarios that recall the ancient Neapolitan nativity scene art.
