The Sant’Agnello Carnival 2026 will take place on Sunday 15 and Tuesday 17 February 2026, transforming the city center into a show of colours, music and creativity. The heart of the events will be Piazza Matteotti, from which the two large parades will start: the Folk Puppets Parade and the evocative Sea Parade, with giant puppets and theatrical machines inspired by the marine world.

The initiative is sponsored by the Metropolitan City of Naples, included in the program of metropolitan events 2025/2026 “From the profane to the sacred”, and is part of the project “Sant’Agnello. Lights, colors and music” – IV edition, promoted by the Municipality of Sant’Agnello.

The Carnival of Sant'Agnello: tradition, street theater and traveling show

The Carnival of Sant’Agnello is one of the most anticipated events in the Sorrento Peninsula, designed to involve families, children and visitors through entertainment, dance, music and masked processions.

The 2026 edition stands out for two great spectacular moments:

  • the Folk Puppets Parade, dedicated to popular tradition
  • the Sea Parade, inspired by the marine world and contemporary puppetry

A free event that enhances the city squares and streets by transforming them into an open-air stage.

The first day of the celebration is dedicated to tradition and popular characters.

Since 10:30 – Meeting place for children and families with entertainment, dance performances, street artists, music and a musical band

  • Since 12 am Start of the Folk Puppets Parade

The masked procession will cross the streets of Sant’Agnello with:

  • confetti cannon
  • Neapolitan guarattelle
  • giant puppets about 3 meters tall
  • traditional characters such as Pulcinella and Teresina

The Carnival continues with an event with a strong visual and scenographic impact.

  • Ore 15:30 – Entertainment, local dance schools, street artists and musical band
  • Ore 17:00 – Start of the Sea Parade

The protagonists will be theatrical machines and giant puppets inspired by the marine world, which will progressively light up along the city streets.

The show was born from a theater laboratory in which scenic objects and mobile structures come together to create an evocative parade, capable of “sailing the seas of storytelling” through light, movement and creativity.

All the main events take place in the center of Sant’Agnello, with the meeting and departure point in Piazza Matteotti.

Sant’Agnello is located on the Sorrento Peninsula, a few minutes from Sorrento, and is easily reachable by Circumvesuviana, car or bus, making the Carnival an ideal destination also for those staying in the surrounding area.
