Joan Mirò’s exhibition is coming for the first time in Sorrento
Focusing on his graphic works, the Mirò’s exhibition in Sorrento illustrates the many dimensions of Mirò’s visual language.
On display are key pieces like Les pénalités de l’enfer ou Les nouvelles-hébrides, a vibrant and unsettling visual suite, Lapidari, refined and symbolic, and Ubu Roi, a biting satirical work rooted in absurd theatre.
Also featured are Mirò’s more lyrical and intimate pieces: Le Lézard aux plumes d’or, Le Marteau sans maître, and the gentle Quelques Fleurs pour des amis.
These works reflect a personal and imaginative side of the artist, where poetry meets color and abstraction becomes emotion.
Art, tourism and the beauty inside Sorrento
Mirò’s relationship with printmaking was profound and liberating. He treated paper not as a secondary medium but as a creative field open to experimentation. In this exhibition, his signs become pathways into inner landscapes and pure invention.
Set in the elegant atmosphere of Villa Fiorentino, surrounded by Sorrento’s beauty, “The Enchantment of Signs” invites visitors to pause, reflect, and lose themselves in Mirò’s poetic universe.
