Vico Equense - Cinema - Festival
From 5 to 12 July 2026 the Social World Film Festival returns to Vico Equense, one of the most anticipated cinematographic events of the summer in Campania. The international event dedicated to social cinema attracts directors, actors, young filmmakers and enthusiasts from all over the world every year to the splendid setting of the Sorrento Peninsula.
The 2026 edition of the festival will be dedicated to Claudia Cardinale and will have as its theme “Embrace”, the leitmotif of the new festival directed by director Giuseppe Alessio Nuzzo. This year too the program includes screenings, meetings, red carpets, masterclasses, exhibitions and free events in the center of Vico Equense.
What is the Social World Film Festival
The Social World Film Festival is an international exhibition of social cinema born in 2011 in Vico Equense with the aim of promoting cinema as a tool for reflection, inclusion and cultural dialogue.
Over the years the festival has become one of the most important cinematographic events in Southern Italy, hosting actors, directors and productions from dozens of countries. The 2026 edition will see the participation of 142 works selected from 42 different countries, confirming the international character of the event

The organizers will announce the definitive calendar of events on June 12, 2026, when guests, screenings, masterclasses, red carpets and appointments of the sixteenth edition of the festival will be revealed.
