The Art of Coral and Cameo: ‘The Jewels of Casa Ascione’ Exhibition at Villa Fiorentino, Sorrento

As part of its ongoing mission to showcase the finest examples of Italian artistry, Fondazione Sorrento proudly presents this new cultural event.

Following last year’s acclaimed exhibitions on the goldsmithing of Gerardo Sacco and the tailoring legacy of E. Marinella of Naples, attention now turns to a centuries-old tradition from Torre del Greco — a city globally renowned for its coral artistry.

Running from April 5 to May 18, 2025, this exhibition brings to life the 170-year legacy of Casa Ascione, one of the most iconic families in the world of handcrafted coral and cameos.

Curated by Mimma Sardella, the exhibit takes visitors on an immersive journey through historic tools, rare documents, original materials, and the skilled hands of artisans who shaped an international reputation.

Endorsed by the Italian Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy, Campania Region, and the Municipality of Sorrento, the show is a rare opportunity to experience true Italian excellence in a breathtaking setting.
